Recherche, moteur d’action – Application des résultats de la recherche aux politiques et aux pratiques

En diffusant largement leurs résultats de recherche et en les reliant aux politiques et aux pratiques, les chercheurs peuvent favoriser l’application judicieuse des connaissances qu’ils ont produites et faire en sorte que leurs travaux comptent. Cependant, pour que les recherches scientifiques utiles atteignent les gens et mènent à des actions positives, il faut pouvoir compter sur des compétences en matière de stratégie, de création et de communications.

Ces sept dernières années, le projet Recherche, moteur d’action (RM), subventionné conjointement par le CDRI et la Direction du développement et de la coopération de la Suisse, a aidé des chercheurs de pays en développement à mieux faire connaître leurs travaux de recherche et en faire utiliser les résultats. RM leur a offert un soutien technique et financier afin que leurs résultats de recherche puissent atteindre un public plus vaste et susciter le changement. L’aide fournie pour le renforcement des capacités a pris différentes formes : soutien institutionnel, appui apporté pour la préparation de projets menés avec les médias, différents types d’ateliers et outils de formation, entre autres.

The Knowledge Translation Toolkit est un produit phare de Recherche, moteur d’action. S’inspirant de l’expérience de spécialistes de différentes disciplines d’un peu partout dans le monde, ce livre, qui traite d’un ensemble de théories, d’outils et de stratégies, vise à motiver les chercheurs à avoir recours à l’application des connaissances et entend les aider à bien le faire.

Recherche, moteur d’action a financé plusieurs projets menés de concert avec les médias. À titre d’exemple, en collaboration avec le
BBC World Service Trust, une émission de radio sur des questions reliées à la santé a été conçue et diffusée en Afrique de l’Est. Les 41 épisodes de l’émission Kimasomaso ont abordé un vaste éventail de sujets, allant des établissements de santé des bidonvilles à la gouvernance des systèmes de santé. Ils ont atteint plus de 4,5 millions d’auditeurs et ont suscité un regain d’intérêt à l’égard des politiques en matière de santé chez les jeunes, les chercheurs et les décideurs.
